I'm going to assume that if it was something one just happened to "find" on the side of the road, it'd count for the secondhand under $20, right?

Right... Now, to pick through the pile of stuff my mom and I gathered on our last trashpicking adventure for hideous...

This really sounds like a lot of fun!  I love challenges so I'm going to see what I can find and do.  I do crafts all day because I am not able to work.  Let me see how creative I can get!

hurray!! This is so the craft challenge for me!!
When I read this, I knew exactly what I would recon lol... It's really quite funny, It's secondhand, it smells, it itches (I sat through the itchiness while reading this thread...way too long!), and it has caused multiple arguments between my significant other and I. Did I mention it has a clone??!! lol yes there are two of the same ugly items!! (I have hidden one of them for a loooooong time.... Sooner or later I will weed out the double and there shall be no more of this UGLY duo ROFL) can I possibly make it beautiful though?? I may find something uglier to recon...if that's even possible Grin

I think it's really cute (it's actually making me giggle) that we are all worrying about how ugly our items are, when any other time, most of us worry if our projects are beautiful or pretty enough. It's a really interesting turn around Cheesy I wonder if it was planned this way... lol to make us question and/or appreciate what 'ugly' really means.
I personally like a lot of ugly or tacky things...this is going to be a very interesting challenge that's for sure  Grin

I started on my project not too long after reading this around the beginning of the month.  My main problem is, the thrift store sweater I bought in October, I had already ripped out and rolled into balls of yarn.  Thus, no picture of the starting item.  It was a chunky Gap sweater, and I've tried to find a photo of it online, but so far no luck.  Does this disqualify me?  Blah...

Disqualify is such a harsh word... but you do need to include a photo of the original item in your entry.  Perhaps find another ugly sweater and have at it?

Do more of what makes you happy.
