The question about how the lashes hold up to play. I made Ollie and Ellie with real human hair lashes and they are doing fairly well. My lil sis plays with Ollie all the time. They are a bit crumpled looking, but they can be re curled with an eyelash curler. I found some cool lashes that are not made out of human hair, but some sort of synthetic and they seem to stand up to play better.

Wildfyre - your poppet is so cute, you'd never know that you had difficulty with her!

I spent most of today finishing my first poppet. I think I gave her too much hair - I had to trim it so it didn't pull her head back, but, I wanted it long...haha. Then, she was complaining about borrowing clothes from other dolls...so, she got a dress of her own, too. Now she's happy and she told me her name - it's Kella...  But, now she says she needs a party outfit and her own guitar.  Wink
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and praise...Kella's ego is getting a good boost!

Oh I tried everything! The fabric was horrendous! It frayed and frayed and then when I put the eyes in it produced huge runs in the fabric all the way down her face.. then every time I put the needle in to sculpt the toes etc it would make runs..
Lesson learned - read the ends of the bolt when you buy fabric and never buy poppet fabric at midnight in Walmart while dead tired :-p
Wow that is really nasty stuff. Poppetwise.

Shopping while tired for anything is usually a disaster for me.

Well your poppet looks great in the picture anyway.

inez- Kella finished really well. The dress is great. Is that alova?

Nobody warned me about how demanding the poppets are. And a muzzle won't work since they use telepathy. They're not allowed in my bedroom.

good info. I'll try to find synthetic. Hopefully that is cheaper.

Kella is stunning! I love the colors.. and her hair is so cool!

Thank you for the kind words about the "problem poppet" Smiley I just couldn't give up on her. I figure the runs give her character.. they look like scars. Maybe she was a stunt woman or lion trainer Grin
