I've finally had chance to upload a pic of my pink poppet
Here she is in all her pinkness:

She's gone to live with my friend Nat. This is the first poppet I've done that sticks completely to the original pattern. Apparently, I suck at sculpting fingers and toes... Ah well, Nat liked her =]

She's Purdy! I love all of your "not sticking to the original poppet pattern!" You were the first one to make one with fingers. I find it hard to believe that you can't do paw sculpting after doing fingers which are LOADS harder!

Oh, she looks so sweet Sammy ^.^ I love that shade of pink!

The four sisters are progressing...

Katrinka has hair, not sewn down yet. It's wefted. I gave in... It's a neat yarn MiL gave me Smiley It's called Steeltown at night and is a wool/nylon/acrylic blend. Black/red/purple....

Mini me has hair, eyes and lips.

Liebchen is no further along, and I tried my hand at dreads for Kwerkie... Not this time around. They'll look nifty, but too much atm.

Thanks guys! You're right craftewoman, it's madness! Was I the first to do fingers, or did ghillie do one first? I think she did, either way, you're right =]
FaeryFae, I think that's a picture non-poppety people would be really confused by!

Sammy, she is so pretty in pink.  I love the boa, and you find the best eyes for your poppets.  I've never seen that type around here.
Craftewoman: Your mermaid is amazing
FaeryFae: Love the poppet heads Smiley Your making me want to try my hand at painting the eyes

I am new to this website but Ghilie and Nezbutt have been helping me immensely already....although I haven't tried the poppet with "woman" bits yet, here is my first one that my granddaughter kept kissing and pointing to her eyes.  Tell me what you think, she still needs hair (which I am working on as we speak) there is a prototype hanging off her head in the picture.  And of course she needs some clothes.....thanks to all of the posts and tips and help to be found here.  I love this website and although I haven't become a friend yet (due to monetary crap) I plan to do so within the next month...

I hope this works............I have to say, I honestly never even thought of trying to make something like this, I have been quilting for about a year and a half but I have had a great time and have three more that I want to do.  Thanks again Ghilie!!!

cynfll I really like her! She looks great! I like her hair color can't wait to see her "done".
sammywoo- I love that shade of pink, with the blue eyes. I never would ahve thought of that combo. Smiley

She looks good Cynfll Smiley I can't manage girly bits or sculpting in general yet. I mangled my first one a wee bit when I tried and decided her hands and feet are cute enough.

I look at the installed eyes with eyelids and want to do those, but the paint is easily available. I'll eventually give it a try, but the painted faces have tons of personality... Mini Me looks quite cranky, which mom will love Smiley
