I would say to use the dental floss. It is a lot more flexible than embroidery floss. So when the joints are being manipulated I think that maybe dental floss has the flexability and give to accomodate the use.... If you do go with embroidery floss, its not like you can't switch it out once it wears.... I have already redone Paisleys legs because of excessive play... So I guess do embroidery floss now until you decide it is time to switch it out!!!

I use upholstery thread (doubled) to join my dolls together.  I use Guterman.  It is strong and doesn't seem to wear out from movement.

Thanks! I think I will keep HIM bald. I guess the house elf is a He. It isn't Dobby though! But a distant cousin. I must think of a name.

Any one know about the dental floss. Must I use it?
I think ghilie used floss becasue it is so strong. I'd try it with embroidery floss but slit the floss to 3 strands instead of 6. You definitely want more than none strand so it doesn't break.

After the craziness of finals I'm going to get started on my Poppet. I've had the pattern forever it seems like but haven't had time to make her with swap and christmas crafting not to mention school.
I love your house elf! I was thinking yesterday after I try out the pattern I wanted to try to modify it for a house elf, only mine was going to be Dobby Smiley

You paid what??

Thanks for the suggestions for my green girl's clothes.  I'm going to have to take her fabric shopping with me.  I'd been thinking something a little hippy too!  Her eyes are just shiny fabric paint, I still need to do the highlights to put a sparkle in her eye.

I adore that house elf!  I have several family members who would kill to have their own house elf!

Here is my house elf finished with his star pillow case!

Him naked

He is supposed to be a tree topper for a friend of mine. She has no idea that I am making him for. I hope she likes him. His name is Nasir meaning helper. Hope he helps her!

My goodness! So many cute poppets.

I can't wait until my fabric stash thins out some from all the Christmas gifts I'm making so I can convince Hubb into letting me get the fabric for mine. He He.

He looked at my stack of fabrics and went...Uh, you want to start another project and need more fabric?

Oh and pigtails! So much fun

I'm bringing sexy back, I think I dropped it somewhere between the donut shop and the Cheesecake Factory.

I love the House elf!!! I think no hair. I think if he had hair it would downplay those wonderful ears.

I use upholstery thread and it stands up fine. The part through the body is 8 strands.

More beautiful, adorable, amazingly diverse Poppets! I love them all! The apple green one is especially charming...green is my favorite color...

Brown would look great, but so would a combo of tan and white with a shot of green. What kind of fabric did you use to make the green one? She looks fuzzier than most (and especially huggable).

I fell on the ice Monday and landed on my right hand and arm so my crafting is on hold for the week (nothing broken, but I have a hard time getting a firm grip on anything right now). Hopefully, while I'm being snowed in this weekend, I can make up for lost time! And, I'll be hitting JoAnns on the way home tomorrow night and I'll be on the lookout for more cool fabrics. You all continue to inspire me!

The choices you make today determine the choices you will have tomorrow.
