I've just made my first attempt at making a poppet! I made it out of red fleece, and it was a lot easier than I thought- this is only my second go at sewing curves on my sewing machine. I didn't manage to put the ears in, but it turned out much better than I expected. I just need to make hair and clothes next. I think fleece is a really good fabric to use for someone who hasn't got much experience with sewing, it was really easy to work with.

Here's a link to a picture, I don't think I can add pictures to posts yet.

All these new poppets are so cute!  They make me want to drop all my other projects and do another one, but I must be strong!  Resist the poppet-allure...

goldfishpollywog, you should probably do a tutorial when you figure out that forehead--as soon as my hubby sees a Klingon poppet, he will wonder why I haven't made one yet.   Roll Eyes

Dragon*Fly- I'm wanting to surprise mine with a Targ to go with the poppet, but that ought to be simple.  I'll take pics as I go along for a tute.

Hehe, I giggled at the thought of a Klingon poppet. One of my housemates is obsessed (and I mean obsessed, not just a fan) with Star Trek. I'll be curious to see how you manage the forehead.
