thankyou for the pattern Ghilie! I might not be able to start it for a little while because i dont have all the supplies but looks easy enough to follow. It's definitely a less expensive hobby than my previous ball-jointed doll one lol.

seriously? man ive been looking for 2 years for an acceptable girl to go with my guy... and they are all just too expensive or not cute enough... but anyway.... the poppets are just as attractive to me and there's no limit on how many i can really afford because i stocked up on fabric and stuff with my other dolls.

edit: and i dont have to look at them and think "man, i could have gotten myself a car/laptop/game system/etc. with that....."

I have bjd's too. Well, one. I've been looking for years at another (I've had my girl for 3 years) but I just can't get my head around the cost. I only afforded the first as a 21st birthday present. But Poppets are so cute and fun, I can't wait to finish my first one. Her hands look better now, though at the moment her legs are removed to sort out her feet. Once they're done I've picked out the wool for her hair so I can get on with that. I got eyes by butchering a teddy from a second hand shop and everything else was stach material so she's only cost me about 1 in total so far, though I'll want a better fabric then old t-shirt next time XD

i have only one BJ doll also, she was a Christmas present last year and i never did get other.just didn't have the funds for another. i ordered some alova on-line since i can't get it here. i'm going to start a poppet using some  felt that i purchased for a different project while i wait for the alova to arrive.this will be my first (but not my last) poppet. i'll be sewing by hand since my sewing machine quit and i'm looking at getting a new one. A late  Christmas present for myself  Cheesy

Anne11 just make sure to place your stitches tight and close together if sewing by hand. Cant wait to see all the firsts.

So many ideas so little time. Will I ever get them all done?

After years of reading this thread i decided to start a poppet, its my first time doing something like this ... and i have to say for me it was a HUGE pain to put all the body parts togeter, is there any tutorial for that? I read the one we all used but since english is not my 1st language, some parts were complicated, can i use glue? lol
