Well, I wanted to learn how to knit and finally came across a project that got me motivated enough to learn.  My goal was to see how knittable pixel art projects might be (short answer: yes if you adjust the proportions) and have a lot of patience.

I experimented with both 'fair isle' and 'intarsia' style knitting a bit, and ended up with a cube that has at least /one/ good side to it Smiley  If i made a second one, id be smarter and knit it as one large section instead of separate pieces.

I hope you guys get a kick out of this as much as i do Smiley

(This is from a recent video game called 'portal')

I feel so inferior.  I have been knitting for a year and still haven't done fair isle or intarsia.  You are very talented.

I think it looks great, though it's hard to see in the last picture. I want to make one myself.

that's adorable!  my friend from math lecture talks about Portal entirely too much, and if he appreciated crafty things i would consider making this for him as a Christmas gift.

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.

Thanks for all the kind words!  Im just about finished with cube#2 (identical pattern, knitted on 3's instead of 10's)

But you truly wont want to miss my next project!  that is, if i can get around to it....

I love the idea of this!  My boyfriend got this game recently, and to humor him I agreed to try it... long story short, I love it as much as he does.  I may just have to make him his very own cube.  We were both highly entertained by that level.

Thanks for sharing, and nice work - can't wait to see what you knit next.

The Aperture Science Weighted Companion Cube cannot speak.  In the event that your companion cube speaks to you, please disregard its advice.
