a couple of weekends ago a friend showed me how to make the chain with a crochet hook... so I did have to try myself. I have discovered that the only thing I know how to crochet is the half crochet (is it called like that? the one that is less than the single crochet). I plan to learn all the types, but until then... look what I made just using that one and a yarn I found sitting in the back of a drawer!

the model is a small bottle (375ml) of a very good Spanish red wine. I plan this to be a present, do you think they will like it?

I am so proud of me... Grin

I really like it Cheesy  I've been thinking about knitting something similar to that for a while now, but I haven't got up the courage to start.  I really like how yours turned out.  It's a wonderful first project, I hope you continue crochetting.

If you can do THAT after just a couple weekends, look out! You're going to be amazing once you learn all the rest of the stitches! Good job!

This is your very first project!  Wow!  I just crocheted a square for my first project.  great job!  Did you design it yourself or use a pattern?

thank you all so much for your nice words!  Cheesy

bunny in a bear: you should go on with your knitting project, I'd love to see it finished! I do plan to go on corcheting, in fact I got me today a book about the basics

kittycreates: I didn't follow any pattern... they all look like ancient vietnamese to me Tongue I simply tried a circle and went on doing it taller, checking that it fitted the bottle

again, thank you all so much. you give me courage to go on and try many new things Smiley and to think I was afraid of starting a post with a finished project!
