I made a post a few months ago about my roommate and I's pairs costumes over our years in university (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=202231.msg2153094#msg2153094) and this year was our last year together in school, so we decided to go with the ultimate pair for our costumes...

Minnie (my roommate) was lucky enough to find a shirt that fit her like a dress for about 7 dollars at a cheap accessories store, so we bought fabric paint and freehanded the white dots onto it. We bought a little bit of white trim from Wal-Mart and I sewed that on for "sleeves". She used some red material and the white fabric paint with some pillow stuffing I had around to make her bow, and a cheap headband and some adhesive felt for her ears (mine were made the same way, but without the bow). We both bought our leggings and just happened to own some yellow (well, gold) flats. Mostly everything on my costume was bought. The shorts had white athletic stripes on the sides so I got out my seam ripped and ripped them off, and had to use some red fabric paint to paint over a stupid design on the front. I hot glued some white buttons on them (but I don't think you can see them in the pics) and took a black and white polka dotted bow that we ripped off one of the headbands, glued it to a ribbon and wore it around my neck. The tank top, suspenders, and leggings I bought. The gloves we also bought and just used a sharpie to make the black "knuckles". These were definitely our best costumes yet, so fun!

And just because it was Halloween... a scary photo:

Also, because I think it's funny, my boyfriend:

Mclovin!  The transformation was scary. I swear he's way cuter when it's not Halloween Smiley. He shaved for this (which if you know him, was pretty epic) and made Mclovin's party outfit out of a thrift store shirt he cut into a vest and a too-big shirt with some too-tight black pants. We found the ID online and printed it onto cardstock then "laminated" with packing tape. Mclovin was well-received Smiley

Everyone's costumes are so awesome! I'm glad we're still posting into almost December.. haha.

this year, i was "virgin mary baby jesus miscarriage." it was that kind of a costume party.

immaculate heart detail:

my costume:
three store bed sheets *new purchase $9
five giant dollar store roses *new purchase $5
craft foam - in stock
rose buds - in stock
tulle - in stock
metallic pipe cleaners - in stock
gold spray paint - in stock

my papier-mache baby jesus:
pearl white balloons *new purchase $1
peach crepe streamers *new purchase $1
black pompoms - in stock
pink felt - in stock

in the end i couldn't go through with soaking myself and my wee bebe with fake blood so that costume wasn't totally complete.

took me < $16 and about 7 hours to make from start to finish with not too many breaks.
