I've been wanting a new earflap hat for a while, since I LOVE them and they are so easy to make. This week there are people selling alpaca fair-trade products on campus, and while they're gorgeous and I'm all about fair trade, I'm also poor and notoriously picky about paying for things I can make. So, with the necessary motivation (and some gorgeous handspun yarn I got from the Kansas City Renaissance Fest) I got crackin'.

(If you're going to look goofy anyway, might as well make it seem intentional.)

The tutorial is here, by the lovely LuvCrochet. You should try it--it only took me an hour, with stripes and everything! (Which I've never done before!)

I'm not doing personal swaps right now, but if you're interested, go ahead and PM me anyway--maybe we can work it out for later. Smiley

Awesome colors! Darn, yet another hat to add to my "To Make" list...
