I joined the "Try A New Craft" swap and decided to learn making wire and beads jewelry.

I made this pendant as a practice piece before getting started with the swap items.

wire and a pink fresh water pearl

I got the inspiration from the wigjig website but I didn't use a jig.

I'm pretty happy with it. What do you think?

Edit: I finished matching earrings! They have dark grey fresh water pearls in the center.

I love the wire around the outside of the pearl. How did you do it?

To bead or not to bead...Pfft, that's not even debatable.

Thanks everyone!
Right now I'm working on a miniature of that pattern to make matching earrings.

I love the wire around the outside of the pearl. How did you do it?
I wrapped the wire around one end of the head pin then wrapped and twisted it around the pearl and fastend it by wrapping it around the other end of the pin. It was a little tricky because the wire was really thin.

The only tools I use are round nose pliers and bent nose pliers. And pens to wrap the wire around for making larger loops.

That is your first piece of jewelry ?! It's really, really amazing ... I absolutely LOVE that wirework ... so delicate. And the pearls is really tender.
Great job !!
I can't wait to see your work when you become more "trained" (if that is your first piece, I just can't imagine what will your next ones be like!) =))
