I asked my 13 year old brother what he wanted for Christmas and he wants drumsticks. (He got a drum set for his birthday in July).  But I don't want to just give him drumsticks, then I saw this thread and thought- 'drummer in a box'.  I thought maybe I could buy him a few sets of drumsticks, maybe paint/decorate a pair, and maybe crochet him some wrist warmers/sweat bands.  Any other ideas I could include?

A Random silly idea that just popped into my head: rig a pair of drumsticks onto either wrist tethers (ala Nintendo Wii controllers) or on a through-the-sleeves tether (like with kids mittens) so he can really rock without endangering the windows.  Wink

You could get him a practice pad.. maybe like a recorder or something so he can play back his tunes. Also.. (I think someone said this) a cd/tape or songs with drum solos.

Make some drumstick out of polymer clay.  Not for drums ... make them look like chicken/turkey legs.  I know the idea is cheesy, but it made me giggle.

Does anyone have any ideas for the following boxes:

-"Florida in a Box" or "Orlando in a Box". My brother wanted to go to Florida (mainly to go to Walt Disney World) in the new year, but has decided to stay home because his fiance is afraid of flying, so he might like a vacation in a box.

-a box based on the movie Talledega Nights (my brother loved this movie, but I have never seen it) or on the tv show, "The Office" (the US version).

-"Techie in a Box" or "Tech Service in a Box"?

-"Dragon (or perhaps, Fantasy) in a Box"

Dragon in a box-any fantasy book with a dragon on the cover-go to the used book shop.A bookmark,or make a dragon out of polymer clay.Buy some kind of hot spicy treats, and relabled them Dragon whatever.Dragon jerky,Redhot candies could be,hmm, don't know, must be a cute name somewhere.Any egg shaped candy becomes dragon eggs-I think Cadbury eggs are available in a christmas version.Gold wrapped chocolate coins for the dragon's hoard.I've seen dragon calendars.Make one out of shrinky dink for a keychain.

florida in a box- hawaiian shirt, drink umbrellas, sand, sunscreen... mickey ears?  a cd with sounds of waves?

the office - jello (to put office supplies in), a british flag, a ream of paper that says "dunder mifflin" on it...  um... "world's best boss" coffee mug...

hope that helps Cheesy

not sure if this has been touched on already,

but ive got this buddy who has recently decided to take up smoking to "get rid of his problems"
he knows i disagree with his habit, so i want to make some sort of stoner in a box?
as a sort of subtle way to remind him.

but the only thing i can think of is like...
snacks and stuff for the munchies.

ahhh because i dont smoke.
sooo would anyone have any ideas?
