I wonder how these would look made with magazine pages? I think I'll try later. I loved these from the first time I saw them.

Well, I am currently doing over my room, and I had a HUGE box of old magazines (mainly ones like Seventeen, vogue, ya know Smiley ) and i felt like having a big billboard. So I bought a small one, and I stuck some extra cardboard to strengthen the back of it, and I stuck clippings that I liked. Ones like pictures of rockstars, fashion, and clothes.

I like both of them...but how do you make the coils in the first or what looks like 'squares' or something similar in the second?

I know its nothing all that new, but I still really like envelopes made from magazine pages and junk mail - just makes things a bit more interesting...

Broadwaybabe, I've got a great use for all those magazines.  You can make recycled magazine boxes!  All you need are magazine pages, a ruler, a pencil and a glue stick.  You use a simple origami technique to make the boxes.  I'd include a photo here, but I haven't posted 10 times in the forums yet.... If you want to see what they look like and get step-by-step directions, just use this link.  It will take you directly to the tutorial.

My parents and sister always made fun of me for my magazine clipping. I hoarded magazines in high school, lol. Mostly fashion, clothing ideas, and I'd make my own. I had shoeboxes full of little clippings, and glued them onto regular lined paper. Years later I found those binders, and had a good step back in time. I still do, mostly home decorating ideas, recipes, photos of food for inspiration for meals (I'm weird! Does anyone else clip photos of food to get ideas on cooking?) I've got three or four shoeboxes full of ideas. Every few months or so, I get a burr in my hair and go through those boxes, tossing out anything that doesnt give me any thoughts, you know? I found a really old box when I moved, and you look at them and go "why did I save THAT? UGH!" LOL. Its about time for a cleanout too. I always felt like I was the only one who clipped, now I know I'm not - there needs to be a club! HA!
