this dress is so AWESOME. What McCall pattern is it? i've been looking at simplicity/mccall patterns for a brocade dress, and I can't seem to figure out which one this is. It seems like hte perfect length too. Do you think the skirt is flowy enough to put a petticoat?

That's a really nice homecoming dress! I like how it has a typical shape, but the brocade gives it a unique flair.

I'm looking for a bunch of different buttons, and can swap nice yarn for them ^_^

I have that pattern! I was going to adapt it for my prom dress (my ex ended up leaving me for my friend and going with her, so I worked instead). I'm so excited it looks sooo pretty in person. Now I have incentive to make it just for the girly pretty-ness factor.

nice choice in fabric too!

I think the skirt is full enough for a petticoat. Sorry, but I still don't know the pattern number.
