thanks so much vegbee for the tute!  they are going to make great xmas gifts.
i used turquoise (hubby called it cookie monster) fun fur and random fabrics...all from joann's half off red tag fabrics. yay.  only spent $17 for 9 hoods, and have enough to make one more even! the first two were made with a vintage fabric and some squares i got in a swap.
modeled by my sprout with her huge noggin!

So do they make a mess when you wear them? And you made them all out of fun fur? And you got all those fabrics at the half off sale? LOL I got 94 yards of fabric for 115 dollars. Not too shabby...Enough to last me til next month...I mean next year hehe.

So on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is this to make? I am super good with patterns where you lay the piece down on fabric and cut out, but cutting your own patterns, just not for me.

no the mess is just from cutting the fur and shaking it.  once its cut and the loose shaken off, it doesnt shed like that!  ha!  how cruel of a gift would THAT be!?
very easy to make.  i made my own pattern by tracing over one of my hoodies, like vegbee recommended.  i added some to all sides to make them a little bigger.  then just cut strips for the scarf.  pieced 4 together for each side.  that way i could squeeze out one from half a yard of each fur and patterned fabrics.  i dont know how vegbee got such loooong scarves with just half a yard, but i am pleased with the length.   they look cool tied like a mens neck tie too!

sorry, here is her tute that i followed.

i couldnt believe i could make it from half a yard of each either!  her scarf parts are really long.  i could have probably pieced together longer, but my patterns would have gotten all wonky.

thanks again vegbee for the great tutorial!!!!!!!!!!!  fantastic !

Me too........but I live in Miami and I would look ridiculous!  I might make some for my neice and nephew; they live in Central Florida and it gets a (tiny bit) cooler there in winter.
