Since I only have one window in my kitchen I was able to justify creating a custom filet curtain.  I took the lily motif from an old Dover book and added a section of bars to make the lower curtain longer.

I didn't think about how the horizontal bar would complicate the blocking and I do need to do a better job on that, but I just hung it and couldn't wait to redo the blocking before posting.

and a closer look at the lily

Overall, it took about 2 months from the point I decided on the pattern till it was finished.  But it is not the only thing I was working on - and I was not doing it constantly.

It doesn't actually take that much time since much of it is holes. I mostly do this watching TV (well sitting in the room with the TV on, since I really don't watch the TV)

I was able to do 8-10 rows of the lily pattern in an evening - which is about 2"

Wow!  That's fantastic!  I've never tried filet crochet, but I'm sure it must have taken forever.
