I know this may seem like a silly question. And it's probably a head smacker. But I am making some wool soakers for my niece on the way, and I wanted to tie dye it (sort of) normally I dye wool before I crochet it, but I want to do it after I crochet it and felt it. Anyone know?

I've never personally tried this, but I would assume that, since the yarn is an animal fiber (wool) it should take the dye felted or unfelted.  Could make for some neat effects.
