This was a nice little weekend project for me. I was actually inspired by the colors I used when I knitted the Headhuggers headband from the SnB Nation.

Here is the bag hanging from my desk chair.

And the bright red lining.  Smiley

I used different textured yarns and skipped the rivets, but I think it turned out all right.

It looks awesome!  I love this bag so much.  I really have to make it for myself.

Thanks, Penguin  Smiley It's really an easy and fun bag to make. The only part that was tedious for me was weaving in all those ends from the color work.

That looks really good. A useful size, too Smiley It's one I keep meaning to make - which yarns did you use?

You know?  I never thought I'd like a granny square bag this much. Tres bien!  Smiley

Thanks, everyone! The yarns I used were:

Red Heart Super Saver (red & black)
Bernat Softee Chunkee (hot pink)
Lion Wool (Lemongrass)

Each yarn had a slightly different texture and weight to it, so I just made sure I was consistent in working the yarns in the same pattern for each square so that they would be even in size.  Smiley Oh, and if anyone wants to crochet this using synthetic yarns, I was worried about blocking (once you get all the panels pieced together it tends to pucker and sag a bit); however, I just laid a towel over it and gently ironed it on a dry setting. Flattened it out beautifully. Mine is also a bit larger than the one in the book. I used a size I crochet hook instead of a G.

Bwahaha I just realized you can barely see a skein of Moda Dea Cache peeking out of my bag. LMAO I have a serious addiction. My yarn and Denise needle kit go everywhere with me (which also fits in this purse).  Tongue

Thanks for posting the yarns. I keep looking at this bag and then never figuring out what to sub for the suede.
