Hey everyone! I made my first purse in almost eight months today. Smiley I had this khaki colored camo bandana that I bought last year to go with a camo shirt in mostly the same colors. This was made without a pattern, as are most of my purses. The strap is a little under 19″ inches long; the purse is a little under 6″ inches wide and just over 4″ inches tall. It's perfect for my essentials when I go a friend's band play - my driver's license, some cash, chapstick, my cell phone, a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. There's still some work left to be done on it; I need to get velcro for the closure, and try and find some khaki colored bias tape or ribbon to sew around the top, so you can't see my stitching (it'll go on the inside, too). And the best part? I'm going to get one of those mountain climbing clips (what are they called? it starts with a c, I think), and then I can attach both my car keys and my purse to the clip, and then to a belt loop.

Very nice!  You must post pics when you find some bias tape.  It would be great to see it completed.  Is it a carabiner (AKA "D ring") you're thinking of?
(How you you not eat your lipbalm?  It sounds yum!)

So excited that Victoria Magazine is back in circulation!

Thats a really cute idea, you'd never guess it use to be a bandana. Thumbs up!

alittlekittencalledjen - I definitely will! Smiley And yes, a carabiner - I love those things, haha. That chapstick isn't as good as some of their others I've tried - my favorite is the strawberry watermelon one they have. Smiley Sooo good. Now, if they had a Barq's root beer flavored one, I'd be all over that!

ravens tail - Thank you! Smiley

dawn0684 - Thank you! Smiley I like that you can't tell that it used to be a bandana, and it only cost me about $.80 cents to make! The bandana was $.67, and the thread and other supplies I already had. Smiley
