First off let me say I love this hat! Well done! Second, is there a specific gauge that I should use because mine keeps comming out just a hair too small. It brings me great sadness... haha. Help would be appreciated on how I should fix this. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I would skip the slip stitches in the last round...slip stitch is the tightest crochet stitch...if that doesn't work, add a few extra stitches right after you finish making the puff (before you start doing the single crochets for the band)...you could also go up a needle size if you crochet tightly...or maybe just for the band...

I have made this hat at least a dozen times and still love it!

In your post, you say the band around the edge is all single crochet, but it doesn't look like that in the pictures.

Could you please update your pattern?  It's a perfect little hat, and I'd love to be able to make it exactly as pictured!

You may need to read through the posts to see any tips or advice...I have made this hat at least a dozen times as is and it looks exactly like her hat...I think because you do not join the rounds, it creates that open look...but it is definitely single crochet in the band and single, slip, single at the very edge.  Other people have posted pictures, so maybe you can see it in their pictures?  I printed the pattern years ago and can double check...

Welcome to Craftster!  Hope you find some things you want to make and will check out the various tutorials as well!
