lotsa action - the posties have been busy!
i'm really glad you liked your package TAOJ - i had fun learning how to make the purses. and an odd re-occurence of the tatting theme in irasema's package, eh? i used to want to learn how to tatt - i found making the basic picots wasn't too hard but going any further was tricky.

i also received from my fantastic partner today - watch out ladies!

i had a huge (good) day at work yesterday and have been having rough nights this week wanting company where there isn't too much to be had. i took off early from work today (like 11 in the morning), unsure if i was going to be heading to montreal - wanting to go but too poorly slept to enjoy the idea of going. or the idea or organizing how to get there...

but anyways, TAOJ's package was there. Yay! Something happy! let's see what is inside!

first off, the non-crafted goodies:

a book, an apron, tea, a blue pouch, and a napkin.

then, she telepathically determined that i needed a needle roll and WIP bag that i'd forgotten to ask for:

my needles are everywhere - one in its natural habitat.

she made me a drop spindle - i am SO excited to learn how to spin!!

after i had peeled away the mighty layers...oh man...there was something in the bottom of the box that looked kind of like this -

i tried to keep calm, carefully examining the items i had pulled out of the box, but
OH MY GOODNESS A HOODY!!

me in hoodie-disbelief - "You shouldn't have but I'm so happy you did!":

me being a goof (there are a lot of goofy pics, i was really excited):

all the loot together:

it only took me so long to post pics because i refused to take the hoodie off. i fell into a nice cozy sleep with it on and am looking forward to taking my WIP bag with me on me trip...which i have enough clarity to start tomorrow.

TAOJ's list:

book - .75
apron - .75
tea - free
blue pouch - .50
napkin - .25
drop spindle - dowel - .98
                - disc - .69
                - hook and paint - stash
needle roll & WIP bag - fabric - 3
complementing fabric, ribbon, groment, zipper, thread - stash
hoodie, made of 2 sweaters - 3 for 2 sweaters (buy one get one free)

thanks so much TAOJ! and thanks craftydeb for organizing!

(sorry for all the pics)

Hi!  I received my package from Sezouli yesterday.. I was so excited!  The mailman came to my door and said.. 'I hope this thing is supposed to make a bunch of noise- 'cause it does!'  All I could say is, I hope it is supposed to too.. and smiled and took the package!  Nothing was broken.. but I will show you what was jingling..

On the very top of the box was this beautiful reconstructed purse with fun pockets and ribbon ties, the left over fabric, and some more pink fabric to play with.

Back detail of pockets.. aren't they fun?

Then the noisy culprit.....

A vintage purse with metal chain handle... enough to make any postman cringe with fear! She also sent sequins, squares of plastic canvas perfect for upcoming christmas ornaments I need to make, and a 'we love grandma' cross stitch .. I have a grandma home for that as soon as I can whip it up!

Then, some great organizational goodies.. I told her I have been trying to work on my organizational skills.. a jewelry roll for traveling, a cute leather wallet, a like new letter organizer, and also a great deal of a frame.. and a zipper!

then even more fun stuff..

Wonderful beads and charms, and some keychain and toggle findings.  I am going to have fun with these.. I especially like the blue daisy beads.

So I had an 'awww... ' moment when I opened these.. my 2 yr old daughter is just starting to discover the fun of pretending.. (eating pretend cookies, giving mommy a cookie, etc. ) and when I opened the package she picked up the black purse since I was trying on the pink one, and said she wanted to 'go to the store'.. so we spent the next HALF HOUR (a long time when you're 2) pretending to go to a restaurant, the library, and to the store, and also taking pretend cookies and books in and out of our purses that we read to each other. (Imagine opening hands and making up story) Anyway, a thoroughly joyful mom moment!

So before you get too tired of my gushing and skip to the next post, here is the lowdown on the money Sezouli spent..

mail organizer..................... 1.00
rings (on skirt purse) ..........   .25
zipper..............................    .25
bag of craft goodies............  1.00
pic frame ..........................   .25
pink fabric.........................  1.20
beads/findings (2@1.00) .....  2.00
black purse........................  1.50
mushroom wallet ................  1.00
jewelry roll .......................    .50
purse (skirt) .....................  1.00

Total.................................. 9.95

Thank you Sezouli!  I know you were worried, but I really liked what you sent!

That needle roll is lovely! I don't knit or crochet but I loves it nonetheless.

That little pink purse is mighty cute too!

I just home to a package from my swap buddy and will post as soon as I get the kiddo fed.

Okay, dinner is cooking but I figured I'd have time to post my swap goodness from Astica! We did a $5 swap which I have to say is farrrr more difficult than doing the $10 swap. On to the goodness ...

Astica did a great job stalking me! The shirt was inspired my one on my wists. There is a wooden heart with a martini glass on one side (I collect martini glasses) and a snitch on the other (I loves Potter)! Then there is a wee clutch/bag which is also inspired by one of my wists. There were also some cute mini-cards and... my favourite... marble magnets that spell out Knickers! There was also a lollypop for my kiddo but that was quickly swiped before I could take a pic.

Here are some close-up shots

Finally, here is her shopping list
Wooden heart $1
Pink Fabric $.98
Red Zipper $.25
Bristol Board (Free)
Paint Samples (Free)
t-shirt $1
Embroidery Thread $.99
Magnets $.50
Lollypop $.25
Thread, elastic and marbles - Stash

Grand total $4.97!

I figured the lollypop would be swiped! XD
And I'm soooo happy that you like! I can't wait to recieve my package Cheesy It's probably getting really close now  Grin
Do you have an action shot of the T-shirt? I was reallyyy hoping it'd fit properly XD so I'd love if I could see how it fits ^^;

I'm surprised your fav were the magnets!
It's a really good thing I thought of them before packing up then ^^

And I must say... your camera is wayyy better than mine.

My partner, EOcrafter, received yesterday and I know that she is getting ready to leave town, so I'm going to post what I sent and maybe she will post some action shots when she has time.
Outfit #1(modeled by my couch)hippie top and knee length skirt

outfit #2 strapless babydoll top and ankle length patchwork skirt

and the small bits and extras: 2 kitty ornaments, pop tab belt, pattern for hippie top, kitty iron ons, and the leftovers

and the shopping tally:
2 pairs blue jeans             $2.00  thrift store
top pattern                        .99  walmart (price matching)
tye dye fabric                   1.00  yard sale
felt(1 plain, 1 sparkle)          .70  walmart
pillowcase                          .25  yard sale
bias binding                        .50  walmart(clearance)
kitty iron ons                      .10  walmart(clearance)
set of 5 crochet hooks        3.00  walmart(clearance),not pictured
chocolate bar                    1.50  walmart, not pictured
denim scraps                     free, I have tons of old jeans lying about
pop tabs                           free
twine                               free
total                             $10.04
I could have probably made a few more things, I ran out of time before I ran out of ideas.  The crochet hooks and chocolate bar were bought on the way to the post office, so no pix of those.  It is a lot easier to craft/recon clothing for someone who wears a small size;  more available at the thrift stores and patterns take less fabric.  I've been wanting to make a skirt like this for a while, but I can's find any used jeans in my size(16 -18) and I refuse to buy them new to cut them up.

Wow some great stuff is showing up on here.  I love those jean skirts, I wish my daughter would wear something like that.  And she would look so cute in something like that.  She would probably wear it if she found it in a store for $150.  People are getting so much for their money and everything look awesome.
