I am going to attempt stenciling a leather wallet for my husband, and am just wondering if all the techniques I have been reading on here will work OK on leather (most of the rules I was reading were used on cotton fabric).

Freezer paper will work I am sure, but paint? Maybe not fabric paint? Should I try screen printing paint? I don't know anything about this I have never done this before. I don't even paint.

Stenciling on leather is quite similar to stenciling on fabric, you can use fabric paints, you may want to use a cottonball and rubbing alcohol or acetone nail polish remover to take any basic shine off the area to be painted.  You will have to use brown paper to between the iron and the freezer paper to prevent scorching the leather, everything else is the same.  Good luck with your project.
