I was going through some older photos of stuff I've made, and I found this, and just had to share!
This was the first bag I made and still one of my favorites.  I made it for my girlfriend the first Christmas we were dating.  The shell is made mostly of antique and salvaged materials that I got at yard sales and other random places, as are all the findings.  The inside fabric I just bought at a store.  The strap is made of a seatbelt I salvaged from my uncle's junkyard.

The front:

the inside:

The back, with two zippered pockets:

One of the sides with some stacked pockets:

Front pocket with flap detail...I have no idea why i did it this way...

Up close and personal with the monkey embroidery...

The GF posing and being cute...yes, I made her pose...

At this point in the bags life it has been so used that it is literally falling apart...she used it almost every day for like 2 or 3 years!

Just thought I'd share some history....Thoughts?

The bag is very cool, but I love how you worked the strap in!
LOVE the strap!
Great work!

The seatbelt strap is cool (did it still unbuckle?)! And I like how soft the outside looks.

Yes!  it did still unbuckle...  I have quite a thing for making seatbelts into more usable things.  (haha, not that seatbelts in cars aren't useful...buckle up!)  I wish I had made some sort of claim on my seatbelt-belt that I made years ago for myself.  Oh well.  Thanks for the comments!
