I work at a game store and we just got in some game t-shirts with logos I like, only they're all men's sizes so even the small is too big for me. So instantly I thought - t-shirt reconstruction, which I've never done before but I've always wanted to try. Workplace dress code says we can only wear tees if we have a collar underneath, so I thought it would be another level of awesomeness to add a collar to my reconstructed t-shirt and make it work-approved.

I don't know exactly what would be a good pattern to start with. I've been sewing for a year or so and I've done one reconstruction before but it was a skirt, so I'm not sure where to start when it comes to redo-ing a tee that comes in sizes from big to huge, I figure you guys could give me some ideas.

I'll definately need to take in the torso part, do something with the big t-shirt sleeves, and possibly add a collar.

I'd head to the local goodwill or 2nd hand store and remove an already made collar and add it to the t shirt. Maybe a bit of embroidery or embellishment on the collar too?
