i painted a shower curtain years ago and it lasted about 3-4 years? until my little brother pulled on it and ripped all the holes at the top, but the paint was still fine!

i used latex paint left over from the walls and trim and spread the shower curtain out in the yard and splattered paint off the paintbrush onto it, it looked very 80s but it was great.

check out my crafty blog!

i like exclamation marks.

this should probably not be in this section (AWESOME SHOWER CURTAIN IDEA THOUGH GINA)  I want to try it with that krylon spray paint...

but check out http://frugalliving.about.com/library/blvinegararch.htm?terms=vinegar  There are hundreds of ways to use vinegar... including hair rinse, air freshener, vinyl floor cleaner, sunburn cure-all, WRINKLE preventer, spot-free dishwasher agent, eyeglass cleaner, countertop cleaner...  blah blah blah i should shut up now.

i love vinegar!  sooo cheap, friendly, and versatile.  kind of like me...Huh

Actually I made one last month, and had concerns about using acrylic paint -- you know, with the potential to peel off, and such.
I made one using sharpies on the clear vinyl.  I didn't have much want or need for colors, though since I was only drawing skulls and hearts.
The only thing I've noticed about using the Sharpies is that the bottom of the curtain, sometimes slides INSIDE the tub, even though I have a liner, as well and do not want it INSIDE, and when this happens, the Sharpie seems to bleed onto the tub.  Strangely this is not difficult to remove, and simply requires water rinsing, but it's still annoying to have to clean up when it appears.  Otherwise, I have loved having my custom made shower curtain.  And I'm not sure I could find one that had the imagery I wanted, anyway.

Here are pictures.

Anyway . . .

Perhaps if you used an outdoor sealant just over the circles, it would protect the design and not get the rest all icky.  After the circles dried, you could reuse the stencil for spraying or painting sealant.  And MissErika, maybe if you sealed the bottom few feet it would protect your tub.

Not sure if that would work, though--I have tentatively scheduled my first sojourn with real outdoor sealant (not Mod Podge) for tomorrow, so as of yet have absolutely no experience with it.

Just an idea!
