I actually sent you a PM a couple months ago, but I guess you never got it. I'm down in Stamford but am not opposed to driving a bit. I'm originally from Texas so I am used to driving. I just started taking 18 credits at NCC though so I am swamped at the moment, but I would love to meet new people.

Stitch 'n Bitch Fairfield County meets Tuesdays in Stamford: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/snbfairfield. And there are links on the front page of the Yahoo Group to other local groups.

I'm not sure. You should call them -- they're super nice.

Bloodroot Vegetarian Restaurant & Bookstore
85 Ferris Street (in Black Rock)
Bridgeport, CT 06605
(203) 576-9168

On September 16, they started a seven-week weaving course.

Oct. 1-31 they're having a 2nd annual knitting exhibit:
"Visit the Mermaid Room to view the beautiful work of area knitters, chosen by local knitting stores."

And Nov. 1-30 is the 2nd annual weaving exhibit:
"Visit the Mermaid Room to view weavings created by area Weaving Guild members."

I live in bridgeport and I'm totally down for some crafting time.  I sew / knit / stencil primarily, but I love to learn to crochet.  Unfortunetly I'm away at school for most of the year but whenever I come home I'd love to do something with you all.

I live in Milford CT. I was wondering if the restaurant Bloodroot was still around as I wanted to take my husband there-and now that I know they host some interesting craft meetings I will look into it in the future-Right now I'm swamped getting ready for two shows in the Fall but if things change I'd like to see what else Bloodroot has going. I needle felt, but lately have been painting. One of my mermaid pieces a print-is featured at the Walnut Beach Cafe in Milford this Thursday eve-August 6th Gallery Stroll- in their Mermaid Show:

Glad to meet you all here.

Hey thanks for the bloodroot link.  I work in Bridgeport (as a Central High School English teacher), and have yet to really explore any of the cultural or gustatory offerings down in Black Rock.  I'll check it out!

As for being crafty enough to merit meeting with anyone, I don't really qualify as I only joined to look for some advice on sewing projects for DIY backwoods camping gear.

I also live in Milford and would love to get together to craft it up.  Grin
