I'm not a big Burt's Bees fan - something about it irritates my lips unless they're already pristine.  I'm a tried and true fan of Smith's Rosebud Salve.  It's been around forever (it's still owned by the last three members of the family and their orders are still shipped out with hand typed  labels).  It's got a wonderfully smooth texture and is great for your lips, elbows, cuticles, you name it.  It comes in a tin for about $6 - I have one in my knitting bag, pocket of my jackets, velcro'd to the dash of my car, you name it.  It's a miracle.  It comes in a couple of flavors now, but I recommend the original.

Oh, and it's transluscent pinkish color is fetching on the lips.

I love burts bees products. I have the lip balm but I agree with ther person that said it is only good to use if your lips are in a healthy condition. Ive heard that any chapstick that makes your lips frrl that minty-tingle is bad because it dries out your lips. If they are crazy sore and chapped and the vaseline isnt working, Id say go to the doctor. Sounds silly and hypochondriacal (sp?) but mouth boo-boo's can go into overdrive. A sore mouth is never fun.
