seriously!
i scored some awsome red/white polka dot fabric when our hancocks closed
and now have nothing to do with it.
besides, if she got to choose.
my bet is that it would be something cat related.
since thats what she's been basically every year.
i just havent TOLD her she's going to be minnie mouse yet.
lol

emlee_bee I was totally serious. Nothing like seeing someones face when you tell them they're wearing something that you already made for them. Priceless! I love to do it.

i bought all the fabric, Scarlett will  have the lt. purple under, then the dark blue for the vest, and the lt. blue will line the vest. the  blue/green and dark purple will be the overskirt.

mine will be dark blue under the blue/green mesh color. the trim she is trying to grab goes all along the edge of the vest, and the  top of the bodice of my slip. Smiley

I'm so excited for this craftalong!

I'm going to be a horse/pony/unicorn (not sure exactly yet) but I started making my tail last night from fake hair.

I followed patterns to make matching costumed for my BF and I last year, but this year he wants to make his own costume, and I want to to try making something without following a pattern, try to challenge myself a little.

I found this picture: http://www.3wishes.com/images/cuddlylion.jpg
and that's kind of the type of costume I'm going for. Except I think a separate top and skirt instead of a dress. And I'll make the legwarmer/bootcovers look more like furry clydesdale legs, with hooves on the bottom. And some sort of headband with ears and a mane.

I haven't thought about if I'll make hand hooves, or if I'll attach the tail to the skirt or to a belt.

The tail I made is pink and blue, so I'll probably try to find some matching furry fabric. I was thinking something minky would be horse-like? (http://www.minkydelight.com/minkyfabrics.html) Any suggestions for that would be awesome too Smiley.

Can't wait to see all of your creations!

apparently I signed up in March and totally forgot I even had an account here...I used to have dreams all the time that it is Halloween and I don't know it and I have to find something to wear last second...last year I planned the entire year for me and my boyfriend to be the Flintstones...
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/9355/fe48re2rb3.jpg

which I made entirely out of fleece (felt for the black spots, sculpy for my pearls) the hardest part was getting "Fred" to keep his legs closed  Wink

our hair is red and blue year round, he wrestles so he has to be "that guy" at all times...

I started drawing up my outfit for this year...a clown...

I had already made yarn falls for regular use, so I have the hair...

I cheated and bought the corset, but I neeeeeed to make the over shirt because the sleeves have to be absurdly long, I am going for the fabric on wednesday...I need to get the long hair fur as well for the boot covers which I think I have decided I want them all red with a thick black strip down the front...

I still haven't figured out how to make the skirt, I might reconstruct some red dickies I bought that didn't fit...

and the biggest problem......I don't know what to make my boyfriend be!.! (see that, he will be what I want him to be, just like that minnie mouse)

Tricky:

eeh! What a scary clown you're being Cheesy Looking very cool. (Your last year's Flinstones were awesome too!). Can't wait to see this one finished!

Maybe your boyfriend could be some other circus act... like the ringmaster or a lion tamer...

I'm being a unicorn as well and am kind of following this pattern for the head/hat -- without the harness of course Cheesy:

I wish I could join this, but most of my costume (the accessories) are going to be knitted.
