Cigarettesandvalentines, I made a Marie Antoinette costume last year.  Good luck!  It was a lot of work, but I was happy with how it turned out.  See it herehttps://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=130194.0

I realize you just got your boning, but I have one tip about building the panniers - I made one side with steel boning and found it to be quite heavy.  I knew I'd be dancing in mine, so I found a great alternative: 3/8" polyethylene tubing from the plumbing section of the hardware store.  I'm saving the hoopwire to build a cage bustle for a party I won't be dancing at.   Cheesy

I can't wait to see people's costumes this year!

I just finished Snow White for my DD using the Simplicity pattern.  I usually like to go themed, so now I need to figure out what I can go as.  DH can be the prince, but what about me?Huh  Slim pickings for female characters in Snow White and I don't want to be the witch.  Hmmmmm....

This is a reconstruction BTW.  See my thread in children's completed projects.

Well keep in mind that the witch has 2 different looks: scary old gnarled woman with the apple or the second-most-beautiful-in-the-land queen who is quite cool looking.

Otherwise, there's always a dwarf or even a woodland creature of some sort!

Here's my finished dress.  I had to do tons of alterations to it because I sized it way to big.   I'm happy with it in reality but I don't like the way it photographs, something is off.

Wow!  That is really pretty. I really like the lace on the sleeve.  You've done a fantastic job and I still haven't retrieved my Holmes fabric from the basement!
