i have bought some pretty brocade there for a clutch....and it worked out very well.  i also like their jersey......though...WAY cheaper than joann's but it's a little thin....but you can double it because it's only a dollar a yard...

I found some adorable pink and purple striped jersey there for $1.

It doesn't seem any thinner than the joann's jersey I paid 8 frikkin dollars for.

yeah, one great thing about walmart's fabric section is that the knit fabrics ALWAYS go in the dollar section. no matter how nice, how thick or thin, how pretty, they are always always always $1/yard.

however, did you know walmarts nationwide are phasing out the fabric department? how ridiculous is that? apparently they don't think we seamstresses are important enough... however, the only reason i shop at walmart at all is to get fabric. if it wasn't for that department, i'd just shop at the kmart across the street that has better prices and prettier stuff.

but, there's a petition! Sign it! i would stop shopping there FOREVER if they quit carrying fabric. that is so lame.

It's not "profitable" enough.

One of my local stores has a "craft" section of 2 aisles. And the wedding stuff is on the other side of the store. And the scrapbooking is in a 3rd area. Still all under the craft employees responsibilities, though. Roll Eyes
