Thanks for your comments!
I use sprites or small pics in a GIF or BMP format, open 'em in Photoshop and zoom right in! The Samus and the Shining Force one are done 1 cross = 1 pixel and I think I mentioned earlier about the FF sprites Smiley
Also I'm experimenting with Dark Lilac's chart generator (found at http://www.darklilac.com/upload.jsp )

Ah, coolness!  I'll have to keep that in mind when I start a video game project.  I was playing around with Dark Lilac's generator yesterday at work for the 1up mushroom I Want to do, but maybe I'll just try that zoom in method of yours for at least coming up with the chart to use later!

These forums have given me so many ideas that they're all jumbled and rattling through my mind.  Now i'll never get a full project done.  Haha!

I hopes I'm not going off-topic here or anything but if you are wanting to do a video game project and you wanna use the old open-it-in-Photoshop-and-zoom-in method then try not to choose a huge image. The Shining Force one I did measured 189 x 214 pixels and, well it took a couple of months to do lol Cheesy
But of course, a challenge is always good ^^

A couple of extra images here - close ups of the Shining Force project. Apologies again for the lack of cam quality! Enjoy Cheesy

Wowzers!! These are great! I've been thinking of doing cross-stitch that's of my own designs, thanks for the link for the generator.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future Smiley

This is awesome.   I also do video game cross stitches and perler beads and I use that same method, though I prefer paintshop pro because I can put a grid on the image and easily see where each pixel is...I'm sure you can do that in photoshop, but I never managed to figure out how.

And I love the shining force one.... you don't see too much shining force fanart.   here's one I did in perler beads:

I was pretty thrilled to see some one else's.

Thanks again for everyone's lovely comments Smiley Needless to say I am already working on some new projects, which I hope to show you all soon Cheesy

OneChordWonder: Wow~ your SF perler bead pic is amazing! I think Shining Force character portraits lend themselves well to things like this, and I have a few ideas brewing now Cheesy
