I had pictures of the creation process, but i accidentally deleted them from my phone.  The entire pinata is made out of cardboard and streamers (which, fyi, are apparently not vegan.  i didn't know this until after i had purchased them.  Embarrassed)

It's a pun!  Get it? (We live in NC)

The letters are cut out of colored duct tape.

And my darling BF attacking it blindly:

I love making pinatas for "grown-ups."  (even if they don't appreciate them as much as children.)

i love your pinata! question though...how are the streamers not vegan? usually streamers are just dye and paper, no?

Sorry to be a broken record, but I do adore the purple short boy too. And I have the same vegan question?

Also, I got the pun way too slowly. I do love it though. Did you fill it with candy or more adult things?

Personal swap hungry- send me a yummy PM.

although imperfect, love is real, and it is balled up next to you smiling and rubbing sleep from its eyes. -the raintree

What a fun idea!

I don't get the non-vegan streamers thing, either. But, it's late so I'm sure I'm just missing something.

you know what, my friend told me they're not vegan, because they use gelatin to make them stiff, but i can't find anything on the internet about it now, so maybe they are.  i fancy myself pretty good with google.

i'll have to tell justin that y'all like his shorts. (:  he's a sweet kid.  and, the guy in the bottom right is the one who eventually busted the thing.

i filled the pinata with vegan candy, kazoos, slide whistles, and cheap wal-mart gold metals.  fun was had all around!  (it's amazing how many people don't know how to play the kazoo.)

oh, i made this for a music fest we had in durham, nc.  i'm making another one next week, so expect a sister thread!

Very cool pinata!

I found this site: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-crepe-paper.htm about crepe paper streamers, it says that the sizing "may" be gelatin, but that it can be other things, too.
