I saw one of these at school. I fell in love with it and had to make one myself (thanks to my DH who got me my dremmel tool for Christmas). I used my old Utah plate, and I put on a snap to close it. I figure it's perfect for raod trips right? I want to make some for Christmas gifts, if I can find more licence plates... Looks like I'll have to make a new one, because someone stole this one from me Sad

and here is is open.

and from the inside.

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.

Ooo, my Hubby has a plate from Aruba that I've been dying to do something with... maybe this project is worthy enough for his lovely plate. (I've asked several times to transform it- nothing has been good enough yet Tongue )

I also have been hoarding an old license plate (or two) in hopes of becoming talented enough to make something like this out of it.

Would you mind sharing some of your assembly techniques (particularly in the hinge area)?

I'd like to adapt this to some sort of wallet/mini purse - it would be so cute!

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).
I'm the lost one.

Very cool. I've wanted to do something similar only make it into a photo album. I've been scared though because in researching it all the ones made into purses that were hinged made it sound very hard.
