I like infinite annie's idea of the single crochet edging, it will allow you more flexability in the long run.

Thanks everybody for the replies, I'm so happy I'm on the forum now, instead of just reading it all the time!
I am less concerned about the size now, as I've been reading and seeing a lot about this kind of work, and I think there are ways of fitting it to my size if needed, when the time comes.
About the yarn... See, I live in Brazil. So I don't know any of the yarns I read about here (and cry about) and I doubt this one will be available out there either. Anyway, it's a Ibiza (63% viscose, 37% acrilic), color Verde Ctrico, made by Pingouin (http://www.pingouin.com.br/cartela/cartela_desc_cartela.php?gColecaoIdInt=4&gNoveloIdInt=11)
I'll sob about how I never find cool yarn another day.

thank you Smiley
My local yarn shop sells Pingouin, though I think the yarns don't have the same name in Brasil and in France (apparently this one is called Rivage over here) so I'm gonna go and see as soon as they open back after their holidays.

Is the jacket you're making on the pingouin.com.br website ? If so, you're so lucky. I love to see their models for inspiration, but I'm far too big for them.

No, the pattern was given to me by a seamstress who lives near my family's house in the countryside, last time I needed some clothes done (in February). I was choosing how I wanted a blouse done and saw it around, and she told me my mother would be able to make me one. Since then I've been waiting, my mother didn't do it, and I learned how to crochet enough to think I could try it myself.
