This may seem a little out of the ordinary, but I was curious if any of you lovely weavers had some info. I have been thinking about volunteering abroad and was wondering if anyone knew of some amazing weaveing groups around the world. I am hoping to volunteer with a group of artisians and learn their craft!

Thank you!

POTTER?? Handbuilder? If you want craftster to add a ceramics board let everyone know!!

Do you speak Spanish, or any foreign languages?  Here's one I found on google, in Guatemala:

I have never been to Guatemala, but have been in the stages of potentially planning a trip there sometime in the future, so I've read the Lonely Planet guidebook pretty thoroughly.  Another thing it seems like you could do in Guatemala is volunteer elsewhere and also take weaving classes separately.  Sounds like fun!

I went to Peru 2 years ago for a textiles programme with CIPS (Californian Institute for Peruvian Studies) and there's a lot to do with weaving down there and women's cooperatives and such. (Needing the Spanish again).
Another wonderful place for volunteer stuff and weaving is Thailand, or other places in South East Asia, they have some amazing textiles.
