I have been so busy with work and getting ready to go back to school, I just haven't had time to make hardly anything! I made this last week but am just now getting around to posting it.

A lady I work with gave me this fabric. She found it in her house when she moved in and asked if I wanted it because it was ugly and she wouldn't use it.

When she brought it to me, I thought she was bonkers. Its so cute!

Here you are:

The outside. I didn't take a picture of the back, but it has an image of a Mexican guitar.

The little man riding El Burro.

Inside the main pocket. *A little secret, that datebook is hiding my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pez dispenser*

Inside the zipper pocket. I was so excited how the pocket turned out. I have never been able to make a bag with more than one compartment other than little pockets before. Its so neat and I am really proud.

I'd love to hear what you think about it!

Oh and one last little bit. I did no measuring whatsoever. I went by the length of the zipper! Haha.

What a neat bag!  If I'm seeing correctly (with my eyesight these days...who knows??) there are two separate compartments, one zippered.  Am I right?  I think the design is great!  With open bags or totes I'm always afraid of something dropping out, i.e. my wallet, keys, etc.  Will you be doing a tutorial?

That fabric is totally cute and vintage. Some people do not appreciate these things. But it became your gain!  Smiley

I love the pocket. I have yet to try a zipper in a purse but it's on my to do list.

Great job with your ultra cute bag.

Yes, there is an open compartment and a zippered one. I put my books and my organizer and cell phone in the open one and the little tings like lip gloss, etc in the zippered one, and that is exactly why. Stuff is always falling out of my purse.

I was THINKING about a tut, if people would be interested. Its really simple. Actually, I may start on that now.

Thanks for the comments!

Very very cute. Very retro!
I like how you placed the burro and child frame on the front.

I love it! I've recently become addicted to making totes, so this is even more inspiration. I'll have to work on adding zippers to my projects!

I'd love for everyone to check it out. Thanks again, and I hope the tut comes in handy for someone.

Thanks a bunch for the tute!  I'll let you know how mine comes out.  I may add a tall pocket to the inside for the envelopes and papers I usually carry so they stay nice and neat.
