Love the first one and I've never knit a sweater so maybe I'll try too! Could you give me the link that you learned it from?

The construction is ingenious for the raglan topdown, but can be a tad tedious. Good way to learn though.

Thanks for posting the link - I should have done that.

I did do waist shaping on both of these - I did the shaping suggested in the pattern, which I believe was decrease once every 5 rows 5 times then increase once every 5 rows 5 times. 

It's a perfect project to do while watching TV.
