In my continuing effort to make a bigger, better, cheaper, Bellydance costume this side of the Pacific (Japan) I offer my latest.

My first dance top was a bra I had covered with cloth and coins. This bra and belt were built up from a fondation layer of reinforced interfacing and individual bra cup forms which I ordered from http://www.sugarpetals.com/  fabric I purchased here, and some eBay fringe I bought for 9.99 a meter.

I may eventually add more bling-bling ( I will definately get a skirt that is a similar color.)

Gorgeous! I bellydance too and I've always wanted to try making a costume of my own. However I am not gifted with a cute belly [see: the effects of pregnancy] so I'm on a mission to design a not-too-revealing but still belly baring top.

Check out the Costume Goddess stuff, she's also got some good advice on tummy drapes

Thank you, I started making costumes due to a lack of funds (AND living in a country where anything over a B or C cupsize is doomed to order costumes from abroad.) coinsiding with public solo performance oportunities...and I'm really hapy with this one! (there are also matching armbands and a headband that match it...but i forgot to don them for the self-photo)

I will do that thankyou! If my poor skin had not been beaten to death I would have no issue showing, but when your tummy looks like a roadmap you don't feel like jigglin your tummy in anyones face. haha.
