I've looked everywhere for a manatee pattern, with no luck, so I made my own!

They're made using the same pattern, with different yarns to end up with slightly different sizes.

I've named them Chuck and Vivien - those just seem like good manatee names... Grin

Aww too cute!! They remind me of the Veggie Tales song "Endangered Love" where Larry sings about Barbara Manatee. If you have no idea what I'm talking about you should sooo look it up on youtube. It's such a cute song! And I'd love you to pieces if you could write up a pattern.

Your stitches are so tight and compact- I'm sure a lot of people are envious of you now Smiley Plus, these two seem to be very adoring of each other.

Idea- these would be a great mobile for an infant's room. Crochet about 6, string them up and viola  Grin

Eeeee I love them! I've saved the pattern as a favorite for a future purchase! Did you use safety eyes, or are they sewn on?

I'm in love with you. I've been looking for one too! I was too excited to reply so I didn't look if you had a pattern, but if you don't I would love to see it.

Thanks everyone - I'm glad y'all like them!

I used cheapy plastic beads on these guys because my safety eyes were too big.  But you could easily use safety eyes or embroider them to make them baby safe.

Aww, how cute! Manatees in real life look like little old men and I think it's adorable.
I just have to add, I have a stuffed manatee that when you squeeze him, he says "I'm a West Indian manatee. My nickname is Sea Cow." Squeeze him again and it's "I'm friendly and slow-moving. I like to eat and rest." Everytime I hear that part, I think "ahh, me too, manatee, me too."

lol - That's awesome!  One of my coworkers in Florida thought they look like giant potatoes and that's kinda stuck with me.  I swam with some manatees and they're exactly like underwater cows - just doodling along, munching on water plants  Grin.  And they make sqeaky noises very similar to dolphins.  Strange, since they look pretty much opposite of a dolphin.
