Just joined; first post!

I had a Wizard of Oz themed birthday party last year.  I was moving a few days later so I wanted to go all out.  My friend and I made three cakes, and I was in charge of this one.  Smiley

I had a LOT of fun with this.  It's a yellow cake covered with green-dyed vanilla frosting.  The bricks are pineapples (kinda gross, I know...I couldn't think of anything else to use...any ideas?) and the flowers (you know, the ones that make Dorothy fall asleep?) are flower shaped sprinkles.  The larger towers in the middle are pretzels covered with the green icing, and the rest of the towers are green candles.  This is what's behind the towers:

The horse-drawn carriage with the magical color-changing horse!  We were going to use Peeps, but since my birthday is in January it is hard to find Peeps.  So I decided on Rainbow Goldfish.  Grin  And the carriage, of course, is made with pretzels, "glued" together with frosting!  Yum!

Hope you like it!  I hope to make another fun cake soon; I think I will for my boyfriend's birthday in October!

Too cute!  This looks like it was a blast to make.  I love that when you are decorating a cake, you have to really think like a little kid.. "How can I make a tower? What looks like a tower? Pretzels!"  Amazing.
