First post -- here is my octopus!

He's kind of an understated, shy little octopus...I think he didn't entirely want his picture taken as he scuttled across my dresser, but I was too quick for him.

Thank you for the pattern!

That is so cute and funny! Cheesy

My first amigurumi! I'm soo proud! His name is Toby, and since he has been sent to my swap partner I have to go make another one for  myself.

And super brave Toby hanging from the chandelier.

Fantastic work, everybody. I think the world is way more awesome already. According to a poll by Reuters, the world is 23% more bearable now that the octopi are taking over.

Join the Octopus Revolution! It's a non-hostile takeover.

Hi everybody!
I have very recently joined Craftster and this is my first real post  Smiley
I love this pattern, all the octopi are so cute!  Cheesy I made two of them, just finished the second one. Here they are - I hope the picture linking thing works:

They are going to be Christmas presents. I have two pairs of aunts/uncles who love Greece, and I think they will give them a friendly home.  Smiley
By the way, I made the legs/tentacles a little longer by adding three more rows of sc12, and I did make 8 of them. There wasn't really enough space, so I sewed the last one onto the side... that makes it look as if they wanted to shake hands, I think  Wink
Here you can see the many legs:

How do you like them? And I'm not sure about the mouth. I think I like the one without mouth better... what do you think? Any advice will be appreciated Smiley

They're awesome, april-katherine! I love that it looks like they're holding hands, sooo cute.

I love all these guys, they make me smile whenever I see one. Cheesy

ok. i've never done one of these, but i am certain that my sister would adore one for christmas, i dont understand how to start it though...what is a magic loop?
« Reply #28 on: November 15, 2007 06:30:20 AM »

Hi! Well, the magic loop method is a different way to start crocheting in the round. The great thing about it is that it leaves a very small hole which is barely visible. I learnt it from the Happy Hooker book, but I found a good online instruction as well:
Just try to follow it step by step, it's not difficult once you've got the hang of it! Smiley

Oh, and thanks for your comment, Mienna. Smiley
