NOTE FROM RACKYCOO: This lovely card by amaryllisroze was previously posted in the July gallery, but it sparked off an interesting discussion on transfer mediums and gels, so we've decided to split it off and make an entire topic on gels and techniques.  Smiley

"Ghost Girls" - this is the first card I've made in ages. I'm practicing with a new transfer medium I got. I still need a lot of practice with it.

Very cool!  It is a bit creepy but I like the transfer (transfer medium?).

The medium is called "Tranz It". Its pricey and from what I can tell, a pain in the bum to use.

That sounds cool, I've never heard of it but it might be worth looking into (except maybe the pricey part).

It's a shame there's not a really good, cheap, substance that easily transfers every time.  I've tried packing tape with some success, but the size is limited.  I've tried gel medium with some success, but I usually have to do more than one because I rub half the image off or something similar happens to it.  I can never get it to transfer as easily as they seem to in all the books.

I saw a local woman use this stuff and I did the exact same thing she did, but cannot duplicate her quality.

I KNOW that we should be keeping to the topic (by the way AR, that card is STUNNING!) but do you guys just find your gel medium at the craft store?  And is that what it's actually supposed to be for, or is it used primarily for something else?  Sorry Moderators!

I thought we had a thread on the wonders of gel mediums, but can't seem to find it. Anyway...you can usually get it in the "fine arts" aisle of the craft store, with oil paint, etc. It has about a million uses, from what I can tell....do a google search on "gel medium" and see what I mean.
