I'm not so sure that the pictures would turn out as well on a disposable, but...

here's some examples of previous photography:

(don't mind the date on that one..)

I went to central market today, which is the Oldest functioning farmer's market in the country and took some photos Smiley

photography is what i do!

Does anyone use medium-format film?  I'm addicted to the look of it and since I can't afford a new camera right now, I'd love to get some shots...

i have several medium format cameras and both b&w and color medium format film. the only thing would be do you have the resources to get it developed. usually only film/photo stores can develop medium format film unless you have the chemicals and space to do it yourself.

i also have a half frame camera, which is a neat little guy. each frame is half the size of a 35mm neg. i've only ever printed them myself so i'm not sure if any other place does them.

Has anyone thought about black & white film? Can you even buy black & white film? Is it more expensive to process? Do you have to go to a camera/film shop instead of a Walgreens, CVS or Wal-mart?

I'd like to take pics in my hometown (a small town on the southeast coast of Massachusetts) and some of the things would look cool in black & white. They'd still look pretty neat in color, I guess Wink

Actual black-and-white film can't be processed at most retail stores.
But you can get "black and white" color film (which is treated so it can be processed with color chemicals and printed on color paper) that is easier get processed.  Kodak makes one brand, I know.  It's a tad more expensive to buy the film but costs the same to print.  However, I've found that processors who use a computer-run system (like Walgreens and CVS) tend to come out purple or maroon instead of black because the computer is set to balance color film.

Thanks for this information! I guess I'll have to chat with my partner to see if they can get regular B & W film developed. Or just stick to color...

I'm getting nervous, too! I don't consider myself a photographer by any stretch of the imagination. This swap sounded fun, though. Hopefully I get paired with a non-pro photographer like myself Wink

And jesa, I think you've got some great shots posted above!

I am a digital person.  The only editing I ever do is to size the picture better for the internet so when I post pictures of completed projects here they won't be so huge.  For this project I don't plan on editing.  The only exception may be if something came out dark and needs to be brightened a little bit.

Jillie and HaroldLovesMaude, you guys are really good.  Makes me feel a little intimidated.  I don't have many of my pictures in my photobucket because I mainly use that for my completed projects.  Most are in my flickr which most is set to private.  Here are some in my photobucket.  Not as cool as Jillie and HaroldLovesMaude.

The first two are from my last camping trip taken at a nature reserve near Perrot State Park in Wisconsin (I can't remember the name offhand).  The last one is on the Ice Age Trail near Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin.

Depending on my partner I will be doing a mix of countryside and city pictures.  If we don't have partners by the end of the day, I will just need to start doing whatever I was planning anyways, but if most of you are like me, you are open to receiving anything (including artsy shots by Jillie).  The only thing I'm not into is desert.  It has just never thrilled me.

I think your shots are great!  I love the colors and composition of the sunset one, especially.  Don't be intimidated, I've had 4 years of photo classes, I'd be a bit disappointed if I weren't at least a little bit good  Wink

Those first two shots are gorgeous!  I think your daughter is going to be very proud of her baby pictures when she gets older.

OK I use to have this little digital camera that I loved because it took the BEST macro shots ever!!!!  now I have big expensive cameras and cant even get close to the quality of the little one I could put in my pocket.

I am though a fan of film when it comes to other things.  Like people look better on film.

here are my digital pics. NO PHOTOSHOP used on the flowers only on the church picture.

Macro is so fun to shoot, isn't it?  I've been playing with the setting on my camera lately, and your flowers are so colorful and awesome! I bet you have a gorgeous garden.

well if nothing else all this sharing has made waiting more tolerable and I couldn't resist getting in on it...i love editting my photos and changing them.  i signed up for this swap because i would like to improve my actual picture taking skills so that when i snap away with my digital i can get the photo the first time...editting with filters can be a great way to make low res photos look cool though...these photos are from all over the place

no real editting here maybe some cropping
