i'm looking to do the mitered square blanket from mason dixon knitting and not looking to spend 200 some dollars on yarn...any suggestions for substitutes?

I've seen a lot of people subbing Elann.com's Sonata, which is a similar mercerized cotton and comes in lots of colors.
