I saw this fabric and HAD to see it on my baby's bum. I still have to throw it in the dryer to close the seams so they're waterproof, so I can't put it on her yet.
the fleece inner fabric doesn't match in any way, it's just what i had on hand. all i cared about was what i'd see when she's wearing it!
the ruffle fabric is like a knit fishnet with the ruffles sewn to it, supposedly dry clean only, definitely not diaper making material. but if it frays or comes apart it's the other parts of the diaper, the waterproof layer and the fleece that actually matter, so it'll still function regardless. i just HAD to make it...

Gorgeous! Are the ruffles sewn directly onto PUL?

Gorgeous! Are the ruffles sewn directly onto PUL?

they're attached to stretchy fishnet fabric, i cut the whole diaper out of 1 layer of that fabric, 1 layer of waterproof diaper fabric (procare), sewed those 2 together and treated them as one outer layer, and made a pocket diaper with fleece for the inner layer.
i've seen ruffle butt diapers with ruffles sewn directly onto procare, but i don't know if it would work with PUL. with procare you can seal the seams with heat, in the dryer, after you sew it to waterproof the seams. and i've read that doesn't work with PUL. so it might make it leak...

Love it.

The other day I saw "crankypants" on flickr in the crafts for boys group, and you could totally apply that idea to diapers, that would rock.

wow, those crankypants appear to be knitted... wool diapers are bulletproof for leaks! i don't have the time to knit 'em, but i have 4 felted sweaters sitting around waiting to become longies... looks like amelia's egtting crankypants soon!
