I don't know if this is technically reconstructed or not, but since it used to once be alive . . .

This lizard died of unknown causes - just so you know I don't make a habit of going out and killing small animals for jewelry. I found iton my front porch completely mummified. (In case you don't live in Florida, this is a common thing - lizards and giant cockroaches are two important things they leave out of the Florida tourist flyers.)

So instead of sweeping him into the bin, I thought hey, necklace? So he is encased in resin forever and ever and maybe even longer. I made the background pink because it seemed more cheery for a dead lizard.

YAY!!!! First to post!!!!
Well. lets see....
I like the necklace!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Very creative way of using dead things!

I, however, would never wear it cause I've been scarred for life by my dear old grandma... You see, she lives in florida and has a tendency to never cook. I guess she dosen't use her kitchen much cause she's always eating out... I went in one day and got a glass from the cabinet, only to discover a dead mummified lizard on the bottom. It made me cry  Cry.

Anyhoo, back to you. Very creative.. You're right... it does look better with a pink backround!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I love this!!  I was just having a conversation with my best friend the other day about wanting to resin insects, but due to karma I don't think it would be good to go around killing things to encase in my jewels...we laughed...and decided to just look for things already dead.  Hehe..I love this, it rocks.  Good creativity!!

I, too, have found many dead lizards around my Florida home, but I never thought to wear them!  When we were little, we used to hang them off of our ears while they were still alive. (they bite down on your earlobes, but it doesn't hurt)  This is a much more permanent idea!

I am now realizing this post may make me sound like a freak... oh well. Grin

I like the color and shape of the pendant, but wearing dead things(maybe a butterfly) is something i couldn't wear. But on the topic of finding creatures around your home, I'm in south dakota and currently we have a pair of garder snakes that live under our garage so I often see them when I'm gardening or mowing. Yesterday i spotted a very neat looking frog and we also have a bunny that often likes to drop by too. I think if we had lizards i could get used to them too.

Ok, I don't know how to catch them - I've only lived in Florida for 5 years Wink I haven't really had the urge to catch any, unlike my cat. We call him The Great Siamese Lizard Hunter of Tampa Bay.

As for the tail . . . it probably fell off. If you ever try to catch a lizard, the tails sometimes fall off. Some sort of defense mechanism I suppose . . . and then the tail continues to wiggle around for a while all on its own. It was quite disturbing the first time I saw it, even more so after my cat ate the STILL MOVING tail.  Shocked

But I don't want to talk about it, let's just pretend that never happened.

Moving on!
