So I've started bookbinding this summer and while I can carry small stuff like my awl and needles with me to Amherst when I head back to school, I don't really know where I could buy paper and mat board and even bookbinding thread if necessary. I'm fairly certain that the Michaels at Hampshire Mall doesn't carry that kind of stuff.

Any ideas? Is there an art supply store around there that I am unaware of?

I'm not sure if they sell supplies, but the Fiber Art Center in Amherst seems to be having a bookbinding class, maybe you can get supplies there as well...?

I don't know if you have reliable transportation, but in case you take a road trip, C.C. Lowell's in Worcester has some great paper and I know I saw a bookbinding endcap last time I was there.  They are a great place for any kind of art supplies.

I don't go there often, but you could try the Guild Art Store on Main St. in Northampton.
