Some where between what you want and what you need

I made this from a free pattern on Lion Brand's website (have to register to view it).  I used leftover Shine Sport (less then half a skein), and US 2 and US 4 needles to make it.

Bottle is for scale:

I haven't decided whether I want to embroider on a face or not.  I think it will be a good size for a little baby to hold on to!  It only took a few hours to make and was very easy.

What do you think?

That is so cute.  That would make a nice pincushion. But now that I think about it, I don't know if I'd be okay with sticking pins in a bunny's head. Smiley

I had a storebought toy very similar to this when my son was born...I think it was a lamb?  Either way it was an animal head with a small, super soft fleece blankie attached to it, and satin edging.  The first few months it was great to have a small toy that I could toss into a diaper bag, or he could easily cuddle with it without it being too heavy.

The one we had for my son (and the dog eventually also thoroughly loved to its tattery death) was bought as a baby shower gift for something like $10 or $15- if you can pop one of these out fairly quick, you could probably sell them for some extra spending money!

very cute!  I made similar ones for freinds babies recently (but from my own pattern) based on cloth ones I had for my children...

for those of you who are pregnant/have young babies, if you sleep with them for a few nights the toy will take on your scent and then later on when you give it to the baby it will comfort them when you can't be with them......
