My daughter would like to try a pattern. We looked at a few this weekend.

What's your favorite pattern for skirts, shirts or a dress?

I would love to have a list ready to check out next time we go to the fabric shop.

Since I don't make a lot of skirts, I don't have a favorite, but here's the rest:

Shirts - Jalie 2449 (crossover top), it's a great pattern, easy to sew (even with jersey), comes multi sized for the 'perfect fit' (without having to do much or any alteration), and looks great on everyone that I've seen make it.  Jalie 2005 (t-shirts) is also a great option for the same reasons.  Jalie patterns can't be purchased in stores (that I know of) but a number of places (their website, Fabric.com, Patternreview.com, Sewingpatterns.com) sell them online.

Dresses - It looks like the Duro style is still in.  I made Simplicity 4072 awhile ago and found it to be a fairly easy pattern to work with.  I recently made McCall 5379 and loved it!  I does require working with jersey, though.

How old is your daughter?  Is she going to try to make it?
