I've been hovering around Crafster for the last year or so but have never posted any of my projects. This is one of my minor projects but I think it's a nice and simple way to capture memories and it looks pretty good too.

I've spent the last 5months travelling around the USA, Canada and Spain. On my travels I kept hold of maps, ticket stubs, flyers, postcards and many other bits and bobs. I returned home a few days ago and dug out a large blue velvet flocked frame that I'd bought in IKEA in the January Sale (bargain!). I covered the backboard with a New York subway map and the placed some of the ticket stubs and postcards on top.

My pic doesn't really do it much justice, sorry.

That's a cool use of the travel memorabilia - I feel bad throwing away cool things like tickets and bus passes from strange foreign lands Smiley  but they're stupid to keep around if you don't do anything with it! I should try this  Roll Eyes How did you mount the postcards and such? Are they permanantly affixed in their places?

Nah. I didn't mount any of the items permanently, just in case I came upp with a better way to use them. But I did use some blutack in some places.

I've been wondering what to do with my collection of ticket stubs and such, and this seems like a GOod way to do it. Maybe if you were to decorate a large frame with stuff collected from a show, and the inside could be a collage of pictures from the show or drawings or something. Just a thought.

This looks cool.  I have also saved a ton of ticket stubs, and I'm thinking of arranging them on an end table or coffee table and then putting a glass top over them.
